Washington Post Suddenly Remembers It Needs Twitter to Promote Its Articles, Quickly Forgets About ‘Fire Elon Musk’ Ad

3 Min Read

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this one, but apparently, the Washington Post Washington Post backed out of an ad order that said “Fire Elon Musk” – because who doesn’t love a good public scandal, right?
And can we talk about how this whole ordeal is just a huge distraction from the real issues at hand?
But I guess that’s what happens when you’re dealing with the king of Twitter.

And don’t even get me started on Elon Musk himself – the man is a genius, but also kind of a loose cannon, if you know what I mean (which, let’s be real, is part of his charm).
But seriously, have you seen his Twitter feed?
It’s like a never-ending rollercoaster of twists and turns.

Now, I’m not saying I agree with the whole “Fire Elon Musk” thing – I mean, the man has done some amazing things for the world of tech and sustainable energy.
But at the same time, can’t he just chill for one second and stop buying companies and causing chaos on the internet?
And what’s up with his space exploration obsession – is he trying to escape the drama he’s causing on Earth or something?

But I digress – back to the Washington Post and their super brave decision to back out of the ad order.
And can we talk about how this is just a huge cop-out, and they’re basically just censoring free speech (or at least, that’s what I’d argue, but what do I know, I’m just a ranting blogger).
But seriously, what’s next – are they going to start censoring articles that criticize the government or corporate America?

And let’s not forget about the poor advertisers who were trying to advertise their message – I mean, what’s the point of even having a newspaper if you’re just going to censor people’s opinions, right?
But I guess that’s just the world we live in now – where Orwellian nightmares are becoming a reality.
And don’t even get me started on the pros and cons of online advertising – that’s a whole other can of worms.
