Trump Spokesperson Claims Nationwide Outpouring of Tariff Love, Nation Somehow Forgot to Send Flowers and Hallmark Cards

4 Min Read

I am just so done with this administration, and their constant denial of reality – it’s like they think we’re all just sheep who will blindly follow them off a cliff (check out this article from Bloomberg for more on their tariff policies). But, apparently, the Trump press secretary thinks everyone is just lying about hating the tariffs – like, what even is that?

And I mean, come on, who doesn’t love a good tariff? It’s not like they’re hurting American businesses or anything (see this Forbes article on the impact of tariffs). But, I guess if you’re the press secretary, you have to tow the company line, right? I mean, it’s not like they’re getting paid to tell the truth or anything (check out this search on Amazon for more info on the salary of a White House press secretary).

But, let’s get real for a second – tariffs are not the answer to our economic problems, and everyone knows it (except, apparently, the Trump administration – see this article from The Economist for a more in-depth analysis). And, can we talk about how hypocritical it is for them to be all like "oh, everyone loves tariffs" when, in reality, no one actually does? It’s like they think we’re all just going to forget about the damage they’re causing to our economy (check out this CNN article for more on the impact of tariffs on the economy).

And, I mean, what’s next? Are they going to tell us that up is down and black is white? Because, at this point, I wouldn’t put it past them (get a copy of 1984 on Amazon to understand what I’m talking about). But, I guess that’s just the world we live in now – a world where facts are optional and truth is relative (check out this NPR article for more on the fact-checking of the Trump administration’s claims).

But, hey, what do I know? I’m just a crazy person who thinks tariffs are a bad idea (check out this Economics for Dummies book on Amazon to learn more about economics). And, clearly, I’m just misinformed and misguided (see this Brookings article for a more nuanced discussion on tariffs).

And, by the way, has anyone else noticed how tone-deaf this administration is? I mean, it’s like they’re completely out of touch with reality (get a copy of The Emperor’s New Clothes on Amazon to understand what I mean). But, hey, at least they’re consistent – consistently wrong, that is (check out this Politifact page for a fact-checking of Donald Trump’s claims).

But, let’s be real, it’s not like it matters what we think – the Trump administration is going to do what they want, regardless of the consequences (see this Vox article for more on the consequences of the trade war). And, honestly, it’s just exhausting trying to keep up with their lies and distortions (get a fact-checking book on Amazon to help you keep track).

But, I guess that’s just the world we live in now – a world where truth is relative and facts are optional (check out this Washington Post Fact Checker for more on fact-checking). And, honestly, it’s just sad – sad that we’ve lost all sense of decency and integrity (get a book on ethics on Amazon to learn more about ethics).
