I’m just going to lose it, because Reuters has reported that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has been going through a massive shake-up, with a bunch of top officials resigning, and I’m like, what is going on here?
And let me tell you, it all started when the acting U.S. attorney, Danielle Sassoon, resigned rather than drop the charges against Eric Adams, because, apparently, she had some sort of moral compass, and wasn’t about to let the powers that be push her around, and I’m over here thinking, bravo, Danielle, bravo.
But, of course, that wasn’t the end of it, because the acting head of the Public Integrity Section, John Keller, also resigned, and then the case was sent to the DOJ’s criminal division, which, by the way, handles all federal criminal cases, and I’m thinking, ok, maybe this will be the end of it, but nope, the acting head of that division, Kevin Driscoll, also refused to drop the case, and handed in his resignation, and I’m like, seriously, what is going on here?
And, as if all that wasn’t enough, three other deputies in the Public Integrity Section – Rob Heberle, Jenn Clarke, and Marco Palmieri – quit their jobs, and I’m thinking, is this some sort of record, because, seriously, I’ve never seen anything like it, and then the lead prosecutor on Adams’s case, Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagan Scotten, also resigned, and ripped the order in his resignation letter to Bove, who, by the way, seems to have been tasked with carrying out Trump’s instructions, and I’m like, what a mess.
But, let’s get back to the Department of Justice, because, apparently, they’re just a bunch of puppets on strings, and I’m thinking, how can we trust them to do their job, when they’re just going to resign whenever things get tough, and it’s like, come on, can’t they just stand up for what’s right, rather than just caving to pressure, and I’m going to stop here, because, honestly, I’m just too frustrated with the whole thing.
And, on a completely unrelated note, has anyone tried coffee from Amazon, because, let me tell you, it’s amazeballs, but, I guess that’s a story for another time, because, right now, I’m just trying to wrap my head around this whole DOJ debacle, and I’m thinking, how did we get here, and, more importantly, how do we get out of this mess, but, I guess, only time will tell, and, in the meantime, I’ll just be over here, shaking my head, and wondering, what’s next.
But, seriously, though, can someone please write a book about this whole ordeal, because, honestly, it’s just too crazy to be true, and I’m thinking, it’s like a bad movie, but, unfortunately, it’s real life, and we’re all just stuck in it, and I’m like, can we just fast forward to the part where justice is served, because, right now, it’s just a big mess, and I’m so over it, but, I guess, I’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out, and, in the meantime, I’ll just be over here, sipping my coffee, and shaking my head.
