I mean, what’s the point of even having a court system if the Trump administration is just going to ignore the orders and do whatever they want, right? And don’t even get me started on the executive order that’s basically a big ol’ middle finger to "sanctuary" states – can we just take a moment to appreciate the sheer audacity of that move?
But, I guess that’s what happens when you’ve got a administration that’s all about defying the rules and disregarding the law, because, you know, who needs accountability when you’re the one in charge? And, apparently, this new review process for allocated funding is just a fancy way of saying "we’re going to hoard all the money and only give it to the states that kiss up to us".
And, let’s talk about Oregon, shall we? I mean, they’re still waiting for $120 million in funds that were supposed to help with winter storms, flooding, landslides, wildfires, and flood mitigation – that’s like, a whole lot of natural disasters right there, and the Trump administration is just over here like "meh, you’re on your own, Oregon". But, hey, at least Hawaii only has to deal with a paltry $6 million in unpaid funds to rebuild after those devastating wildfires in 2023 – I mean, who needs rebuilding when you can just, you know, pretend like everything is fine?
Disaster relief is not just about throwing money at the problem, it’s about actually caring about the people affected by these disasters – but, I guess that’s just too much to ask from this administration, because they’re too busy playing politics to actually get things done. And, can someone please explain to me why the Trump administration is so obsessed with "sanctuary" states – is it just a petty revenge thing, or is there actually a real reason behind it?
But, hey, what do I know, maybe I’m just being too sensitive, maybe the Trump administration is actually doing a great job and I’m just not seeing it – yeah, right, and maybe unicorns are real too, and they’re just hiding from us because we’re not believing hard enough. And, by the way, has anyone else noticed how infuriating it is to watch the Trump administration just blatantly disregard the law like this – I mean, is this what we’ve devolved to as a society, where the rule of law is just a suggestion?
And, let’s not forget about the undisputed evidence that at least 19 states have presented, showing that they’re not receiving the FEMA funds they were promised – I mean, what more proof do you need, right? But, I guess when you’re the Trump administration, facts are just optional, and you can just make up your own reality – which, honestly, is just terrifying, because if we can’t even agree on basic facts, how are we supposed to function as a society?
But, hey, at least we can all agree that this is a total disaster, right? I mean, who needs functional government when you can just have chaos and confusion instead – it’s not like that’s going to destabilize the entire country or anything, right? And, by the way, has anyone else noticed how ridiculous it is that we’re even having this conversation – I mean, shouldn’t we be talking about, I don’t know, actual policy or something, instead of just arguing about whether or not the Trump administration is following the law?
Anyway, where was I? Oh right, the Trump administration’s blatant disregard for the law – so, yeah, that’s just great, because what we really need is a dictatorship, not a democracy, where the rule of law is just a joke. But, hey, at least we can all laugh about it, right, because what else can you do when the absurdity of it all just becomes too much to handle – I mean, seriously, what’s next, are we going to just abolish the court system altogether and just let Trump do whatever he wants?
And, can someone please explain to me why the Trump administration is so afraid of "sanctuary" states – is it just a fear of diversity, or is there something more sinister at play here? But, hey, what do I know, maybe I’m just reading too much into it, and it’s all just a big misunderstanding – yeah, right, and maybe conspiracy theories are just fun to believe in, but not actually based in reality.
But, I guess that’s just the world we live in now, where facts are optional, and reality is just a suggestion – so, yeah, let’s all just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride, because this trainwreck of a administration is just getting started, and it’s going to be a wild ride, full of twists and turns and absurd moments like this one, where the Trump administration just blatantly disregards the law and gets away with it.
