Canada will maintain its retaliatory tariffs against the US, despite President Trump’s decision to postpone 25% tariffs on many Canadian imports for a month, according to senior Canadian government officials.
The country’s initial $30 billion Canadian (US$21 billion) worth of retaliatory tariffs will remain in place, while a second wave of tariffs has been suspended, Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc announced, as the US and Canada navigate a trade war with ongoing uncertainty.
