Tim Walz Reveals His Secret to Happiness: Watching Tesla Stock Go Up and His Approval Ratings Go Down

5 Min Read

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this, but apparently, Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, has found a way to ‘boost his mood’ – and it’s not by, I don’t know, helping his constituents or something, but by looking at Tesla stock Tesla’s official website. Because, you know, nothing says ‘mood booster’ like watching the stock prices of a company that’s been known to be, shall we say, a bit volatile Tesla’s stock performance on Yahoo Finance. I mean, who needs actual accomplishments or positive change when you can just gaze at a screen and watch the numbers go up and down?

But, apparently, this is a thing now – politicians looking at stock prices to feel good about themselves. And, honestly, it’s just so…human? I guess? I mean, who hasn’t, at some point, looked at their bank account balance and been like, ‘Ah, yes, I’m a functioning member of society!’ (Or, you know, the opposite, and been like, ‘Uh, I guess I’ll just eat ramen noodles for the rest of my life…’). And, hey, if looking at Tesla stock is what gets Governor Walz going, then who are we to judge? Maybe he’s just really into Elon Musk’s biographies or something.

And, let’s be real, Tesla is a pretty interesting company – I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch the stock prices of a company that’s trying to revolutionize the way we think about energy and transportation? It’s like watching a train wreck in slow motion – you don’t want to look, but you just can’t help yourself Bloomberg’s article on Tesla’s stock plunge. But, I guess, if Governor Walz is getting a mood boost out of it, then more power to him – maybe he’ll even start a Tesla stock-watching club, and they can all gather around the screen, watching the numbers go up and down, and just…vibe.

But, seriously, what’s next? Are politicians going to start looking at their Twitter followers to feel good about themselves? ‘Oh, I got 10 new followers today, I must be doing something right!’ (Just a side note, if you want to increase your Twitter followers, you can try reading some Twitter marketing books – just saying). And, hey, maybe it’s not a bad thing – maybe looking at Tesla stock is just the thing Governor Walz needs to, you know, actually get some work done. Like, ‘I’ll just take a quick look at the stock prices, and then I’ll get right on that whole “governing” thing…’.

And, let’s not forget, this is the same guy who’s, you know, supposed to be running a state – not just watching stock prices all day. I mean, I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that’s not what they teach you in Governor School (if that’s even a thing). But, hey, maybe I’m just jealous – maybe I should start looking at Tesla stock too, and see if it gives me a mood boost. Although, if I’m being honest, I think I’d rather look at cute cat pictures – now that’s a mood booster.

But, in all seriousness, it’s just a bit concerning that a politician is looking at stock prices as a way to feel good about themselves. I mean, shouldn’t they be, I don’t know, focused on actual policy and making a positive impact on their constituents? Or is that just too much to ask? (Just a quick aside, if you want to learn more about policy, you can check out Investopedia). Maybe I’m just old-fashioned, but I think politicians should be more focused on, you know, governing, rather than watching stock prices. But, hey, what do I know? Maybe Governor Walz is onto something – maybe we should all just take a step back, and gaze at the wonders of the stock market Yahoo Finance.
