The US and India have signed a pact to jointly produce advanced naval systems, including autonomous underwater and surface vehicles. The initiative, named Autonomous Systems Industry Alliance (ASIA), aims to enhance security in the Indo-Pacific region.
Some of the systems to be produced include a Wave Glider unmanned surface vehicle, a Sea Picket autonomous surveillance system, and a Triton autonomous underwater and surface vehicle. These systems will be used by both nations and potentially exported to friendly foreign countries.
