Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) and Hyundai Heavy Industries have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on shipbuilding, potentially helping the US Navy build new warships to counter China’s growing fleet.
The partnership may accelerate delivery of quality ships and alleviate the impact of America’s shipbuilding capacity shortfall, with possible benefits including increased availability of ships and accelerated growth of the US fleet, ultimately contributing to global maritime dominance.
