Nation Threatens to Take Dramatic Step of Turning off Netflix and Forgetting Passwords to Everything

I am just so tired of all this ACLU drama, can’t they just make up their minds already? (I mean, I love the First Amendment, don’t get me wrong).

But seriously, free speech is a fundamental right, and we need to protect it, even when it’s hard. And by hard, I mean when it’s hate speech, or just plain annoying. I’m not saying I agree with Donald Trump, but de-platforming him was a huge mistake, if you ask me (which, of course, no one did).

And, okay, fine, Facebook and Twitter are private companies, so they can do what they want, technically. But, come on, Mark Zuckerberg, get your act together, man! (By the way, has anyone seen The Social Network? It’s like, totally relevant to this conversation).

But, I guess, what I’m trying to say is that, as a society, we need to be careful not to stifle free speech, even when it’s uncomfortable. And, yes, that includes hate speech, which, let’s be real, is just, like, the worst (check out this Southern Poverty Law Center article for more info).

And, on a completely unrelated note, has anyone tried those funny coffee mugs that are all over the internet? I mean, they’re just, like, the best way to start your day, am I right?

Anyway, back to the topic at hand… judicial oversight is crucial, and if the Trump Administration just ignores the courts, then we’ve got a major problem on our hands (read more about judicial review here). I mean, what’s next, martial law? (Don’t even get me started on that, just… ugh).

And, can we please, for the love of all things good, just respect the rule of law? I mean, it’s not that hard, folks (check out this Constitutional Law book for more info).

But, hey, if all else fails, we can always take to the streets, right? I mean, that’s what history has taught us, anyway (just think about all the civil rights movements that have shaped our country).

And, on a final note, can someone please explain to me why corporate leaders don’t just, like, speak up already? It’s not that hard, guys (just check out this leadership book for tips).

Anyway, that’s my two cents on the whole situation (which, let’s be real, is just, like, a total mess). Thanks for reading, and, you know, try to stay calm and carry on, I guess…
