Elon Musk, the world’s wealthiest billionaire, has voiced support for Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party ahead of the country’s general election. Musk reposted a tweet from conservative activist Charlie Kirk, showing his backing for the party.
The AfD party has been surrounded by controversy due to its anti-immigration stance and allegations of Nazi rhetoric from some of its leaders. Musk’s support for the party has drawn criticism from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who has called it “really disgusting”. The AfD party is currently polling in second place with around 20% support, according to the latest German election polls.
