A former French surgeon, Joël Le Scouarnec, is set to stand trial for allegedly raping or sexually assaulting 299 victims, most of them girls and boys under 15, over three decades.
The trial, which begins on February 24, 2025, in Vannes, France, is expected to last four months and has sparked a national conversation about child abuse and the need for stricter laws and greater accountability in the medical profession.
