Japan’s Ministry of Defense is expanding its medical treatment program for wounded Ukrainian service members, adding another hospital to the initiative. The program provides rehabilitation treatment to those in need.
The hospital of the National Defense Medical College will begin admitting Ukrainian service members in mid-March 2025, in addition to the ongoing care provided at the Central Hospital of the Self-Defense Forces. Japan has been providing medical treatment to Ukrainian soldiers since June 2023, as part of its support for Ukraine’s recovery efforts.
