Feds Somehow Manage to Spend $16M on Guantanamo Bay Timeshare That Came with a Free ‘We’ll Just Send Everyone Back to the US Anyway’ Bonus

3 Min Read

I am absolutely, completely, and utterly fed up with the latest news about the Trump administration’s $16 million debacle in Guantanamo Bay. Can you believe it? I mean, what’s next? Are they going to build a wall around the naval base and make the migrants pay for it?

And let’s talk about the logic behind this decision. I use the term loosely, of course. So, the administration thinks it’s a good idea to detain migrants in a notorious military prison on a remote island, and then… and then… well, I’m not really sure what the plan is, because it seems like they didn’t really think this one through. But hey, who needs a plan when you’ve got plenty of red tape to get tangled up in?

But, I mean, seriously, $16 million? That’s like, what, a small yacht or something. And for what? To house a whopping 41 migrants? That’s like, what, a small apartment building in a decent neighborhood. And the tents? Oh boy, the tents allegedly cost $3.1 million each. I mean, I’ve seen some fancy camping gear in my time, but that’s just ridiculous.

And what about the ICE processing facility in Louisiana? I mean, isn’t that like, you know, a regular prison or something? Why do we need to send migrants all the way to Guantanamo Bay just to detain them? It’s not like they’re, I don’t know, high security threats or anything. Although, I suppose that’s what the administration would have you believe.

But, I mean, come on, $16 million? That’s like, what, a drop in the ocean compared to the budget deficit. And what about the Department of Homeland Security? Don’t they have better things to spend their money on? Like, I don’t know, actual border security?

And, by the way, has anyone noticed that the Cuban government is not exactly thrilled about the whole situation? I mean, who can blame them, right? It’s not like we’re, you know, respecting their sovereignty or anything.

But, hey, what do I know? I’m just a concerned citizen who thinks that maybe, just maybe, we should be spending our money on something a little more productive. Like, I don’t know, infrastructure or education. But hey, who needs that when you’ve got migrant detention centers to build?

And, finally, I just want to say that I’m so done with this administration’s antics. I mean, can we just, you know, move on already? But, I suppose that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

But, anyway, what’s next? Are we going to build a wall around the moon and make the aliens pay for it? I mean, at this point, I wouldn’t put it past them.
