The European Union has proposed stricter migration regulations, including streamlined deportations and tougher penalties for rejected migrants. This plan also involves creating return hubs in countries outside the EU to house people awaiting deportation.
According to Frontex, the number of migrants entering the EU has decreased, with a significant 64 percent decline through Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Despite this, thousands of people continue to make perilous crossings by land and sea, resulting in hundreds of deaths at sea.
