Pakistan’s democracy ranking has fallen six spots in 2024, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Democracy Index, placing it among the “top 10 worst performers” globally.
The country ranked 124th globally, scoring 2.84, and was classified as an authoritarian regime, with the index citing electoral manipulation and political unrest as major challenges in South Asia, including Pakistan.
