Bernie Sanders single-handedly holding Democrats together with duct tape and sheer force of will. - Uncede | My Take on the News

Bernie Sanders single-handedly holding Democrats together with duct tape and sheer force of will.

Politics books are flying off the shelves, and I’m not surprised – with the current state of affairs, who doesn’t want to stay informed? But seriously, have you seen the crowds that Sen. Bernie Sanders is drawing lately? I mean, the man is like a rockstar, minus the guitar and questionable fashion choices. And don’t even get me started on his coast-to-coast tour – it’s like he’s trying to make a point or something.

But what’s really got me going is the fact that Sanders is speaking to overflowing crowds in conservative areas, and people are actually listening. I mean, it’s not like he’s preaching to the choir or anything (although, let’s be real, it’s mostly a choir of disgruntled Democrats and progressive politics enthusiasts). No, seriously, it’s like he’s actually trying to make a difference, and that’s just crazy talk. And have you seen the news lately? It’s like the world has gone mad.

And then, of course, there’s the fact that $1 trillion in tax cuts for the rich is just, you know, a normal Tuesday afternoon. I mean, who needs Medicaid or US Aid when you can just give more money to billionaires, right? It’s not like that’s going to, you know, hurt anyone or anything. But, hey, at least we can all agree that Republicans are feeling the heat from their constituents, and that’s just delicious.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “What’s the point of all this?” And, honestly, I’m not entirely sure. But what I do know is that Bernie Sanders is out there, fighting the good fight, and that’s something to be admired. Even if it’s just a drop in the bucket, it’s a start, right? And who knows, maybe one day we’ll have a progressive politics book that actually makes sense. A girl can dream, right?

But, I mean, let’s get real for a second. The fact that Sanders is drawing such large crowds is not just a testament to his popularity, but also a sign of the dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party. I mean, people are hungry for change, and if the Democrats can’t deliver, then maybe it’s time for someone else to step up. And, hey, who knows, maybe Bernie Sanders will be the one to do it. Stranger things have happened, right?

And, on a completely unrelated note, has anyone tried coffee from Blue Bottle Coffee? Because, wow, it’s like a party in your mouth. But, I digress.

But, back to the matter at hand. It’s clear that Trump’s agenda is not going to be defeated by inside-the-Beltway politicians. I mean, it’s going to take a movement, a grassroots effort to actually make a difference. And, hey, if Bernie Sanders is the one to lead that charge, then so be it. We could do worse, right?

And, finally, it’s worth noting that $1 trillion in tax cuts for the rich is just the tip of the iceberg. I mean, what’s next? Medicaid cuts? US Aid cuts? The possibilities are endless, and that’s just terrifying. But, hey, at least we have politics books to keep us informed, right?
