And here we go again, because apparently, the Trump administration thinks it’s above the law – Supreme Court orders are just suggestions, right? But, I mean, who needs to follow court orders when you’re trying to “make America great again”? I’m still trying to wrap my head around this, but it seems like Donald Trump is having a hard time understanding the concept of “facilitating” someone’s return – you know, like when you’re supposed to make it easy for them to come back, not just throw your hands up in the air and say “not my problem”.
So, let me get this straight – Trump said last week he would follow the high court’s order, because, you know, he “respects the Supreme Court” (yeah, right), but now his administration is all like “nah, we don’t have to actually bring him back, we just have to, you know, ‘facilitate’ his return, which is totally different”. And by “facilitate”, they mean “do absolutely nothing and hope the problem goes away”. I mean, what’s next? Are they going to start using law dictionaries to redefine the meaning of words?
But, in all seriousness, El Salvador is not exactly the safest place, especially for someone like Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who fled gang violence in the first place. And now, the Trump administration is just going to leave him there, in a notorious mega-prison, because, you know, “administrative error” – yeah, that’s a great excuse. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Nayib Bukele is visiting the White House on Monday, and they don’t want to rock the boat.
And, by the way, has anyone else noticed that the Trump administration keeps claiming that these migrants are all “criminals” and “gang members”, but when you actually look into it, it’s all just a bunch of specious claims based on things like tattoos and apparel choices? I mean, come on, that’s not how you determine someone’s guilt or innocence. It’s like they’re trying to create their own crystal ball to predict who’s a “criminal” and who’s not.
But, hey, who needs due process when you can just ship people off to a “judicial black hole” like CECOT, where they can be subjected to “systematic torture”? I mean, that’s not a human rights violation or anything. And, of course, the Trump administration is going to keep doing it, because why not? They’re not accountable to anyone, apparently. As CBS News’ 60 Minutes reported, the vast majority of migrants sent to El Salvador have no criminal records or previous criminal charges. So, what’s the real reason behind all this?
And, in other news, Marco Rubio just announced that the administration sent 10 more “criminals” to El Salvador. Because, you know, that’s exactly what we need – more people being shipped off to a notorious prison without due process. It’s not like we have a Constitution or anything that guarantees people’s rights. I mean, what’s the point of even having a Supreme Court if the administration is just going to ignore their orders? Maybe they should just get a Ouija board to decide what laws to follow and which ones to ignore.
But, I guess that’s just the way the cookie crumbles when you have an administration that thinks it’s above the law. And, hey, who needs accountability when you can just blame it all on “administrative errors” and “classified information”? It’s not like we’re living in a dystopian novel or anything. Although, if we were, I’m pretty sure George Orwell would be proud of the Trump administration’s creativity in coming up with new ways to skirt the law.
Anyway, I’m done ranting for now. But, seriously, can someone please explain to me how this is all legal? Or is it just me, and everyone else is okay with the Trump administration doing whatever they want, whenever they want? Maybe I’m just missing something, but it seems like we’re living in a banana republic or something.
And, as a side note, has anyone else noticed that the Trump administration is really good at spin doctoring? I mean, they can take any situation, no matter how bad, and spin it into something that sounds almost plausible. It’s like they have a magic machine that can turn lies into truth. Although, I’m pretty sure that machine is just called a typewriter, and they’re just really good at typing.
But, in all seriousness, this is a serious issue, and someone needs to hold the Trump administration accountable. We can’t just let them do whatever they want, whenever they want. That’s not how democracy works. Or, at least, that’s not how it’s supposed to work. Maybe I’m just idealistic, but I think we should strive for a system where the government actually follows the law, and the Constitution is more than just a decoration on the wall.
And, finally, can someone please tell me why the Trump administration is so obsessed with El Salvador? Is it because they have a personal connection to the country? Or is it just because they think it’s a convenient place to ship people off to? I mean, I’m no expert, but it seems like there are better ways to handle immigration than just sending people to a notorious prison without due process. Maybe they should try using a compass to guide their decision-making process.
But, hey, what do I know? I’m just a random person on the internet, ranting about politics. Maybe I should just stick to cat videos or something. Although, I’m pretty sure that even cats would be outraged by the Trump administration’s actions. I mean, who needs cute overload when you can have outrage overload?
