Can you believe this? The Trump administration is basically just throwing its hands up in the air and saying “oh well” when it comes to getting Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the guy who was wrongly deported to El Salvador, back to the US. I mean, what even is the point of having a government if they’re just going to sit around and do nothing? (By the way, has anyone tried this book? Might be helpful for some people in charge.)
And don’t even get me started on Michael G. Kozak, some senior State Department official who’s just swearing up and down that Abrego Garcia is “alive and secure” in some prison in El Salvador, but also “detained pursuant to the sovereign, domestic authority of El Salvador”. What does that even mean? Is that like some kind of ritualistic chant or something? (I’m pretty sure I saw that on an episode of Game of Thrones once.)
But wait, it gets better. President Trump himself chimed in on Truth Social (which, by the way, is just a fancy name for “Twitter, but worse”) and basically said, “hey, those guys are El Salvador’s problem now, not ours”. Like, what? Didn’t he just say on Friday that he had the power to bring Abrego Garcia back if the Supreme Court told him to? Did he forget or something? Maybe someone should get him a memory aid or something.
And speaking of the Supreme Court, didn’t they just rule that the Trump administration has to take steps to get Abrego Garcia back? Like, what’s going on here? Is
