The UK has completed a major hypersonic propulsion test, marking a significant step forward in the country’s defence capabilities. The test, which involved 233 successful static test runs, was conducted in collaboration with the US government and industry partners.
The propulsion system is intended to power a cutting-edge hypersonic cruise missile concept, with the goal of delivering a hypersonic weapon technology demonstrator by 2030. The test results have validated the robustness of the engine design, paving the way for future upgrades and advancements in the UK’s hypersonic weapon capabilities.
