But can you believe this guy, Donald Trump, I mean, what is wrong with him? Rather than attending the dignified transfer of the bodies of four U.S. Army soldiers who died on a training mission in Lithuania, he flew to Florida to watch a Saudi-funded LIV golf tournament at his own course – because, you know, that’s what’s really important here. And, of course, he had to join a dinner reception there too, because, why not? I mean, who needs to show respect to fallen soldiers when you have golf and fine dining to attend to?
And let’s not forget, this is the same guy who flew off to watch golf as the US economy was, quite literally, going up in flames. Priorities, people! But, I guess, when you’re a big shot like Trump, you can just do whatever you want, whenever you want. I mean, who’s going to stop him, right?
By the way, have you seen the prices of golf clubs on Amazon? They’re astronomical! No wonder Trump loves golf so much – it’s a great way to make money, I suppose. But, I digress. The point is, Trump’s actions are a slap in the face to the families of the fallen soldiers, and to the soldiers themselves, who gave their lives for this country. And, of course, the White House is trying to cover it up, saying that the families requested no media at the dignified transfer. Convenient, don’t you think?
And then, there’s the fact that the Lithuanian president actually showed up to honor the fallen soldiers, while Trump was busy playing golf. I mean, what does that say about our country? That we’re so arrogant, so self-absorbed, that we can’t even be bothered to show respect to our own soldiers? It’s shameful, if you ask me.
But, hey, what do I know? I’m just a lowly writer, what could I possibly understand about politics or diplomacy? Maybe Trump knows something I don’t – maybe golf is actually a form of diplomacy, and I just haven’t figured it out yet. Ha! Who am I kidding? This is just a travesty, and everyone knows it. Even Fox Business is calling him out on it – and that’s saying something.
And, of course, let’s not forget Trump’s own history with dignified transfers. Apparently, he’s been to a grand total of four, out of 96, since the beginning of his first term. What a hero. I mean, who needs to show respect to fallen soldiers when you have more important things to attend to – like your golf game?
But, in all seriousness, this is a disgrace. A complete and utter disgrace. And, honestly, I’m not surprised. I mean, this is the same guy who got into a fight with a grieving father over a dignified transfer. What a class act.
So, what’s the takeaway from all this? That Trump is a selfish, arrogant, mess of a president who only cares about himself and his own interests? Yeah, that’s about right. And, honestly, I’m just so done with this guy. Can we just impeach him already? Please? For the love of all things good and holy?
