What is wrong with this administration? I mean, seriously, have they no shame? The Trump administration is trying to deport migrants to El Salvador, a country with a reputation for violence and corruption, without even considering the consequences. And, of course, they’re doing it in the most ham-fisted way possible, with restraining orders and ignored court rulings. I mean, who needs the law when you’re the president, right? (By the way, has anyone seen my coffee mug? I swear, I left it right here…).
And don’t even get me started on the so-called “evidence” they’re using to deport people. Tattoos, really? That’s the best they’ve got? I’ve got a tattoo of a cat on my ankle, does that make me a cat burglar? (Just kidding, I don’t have a tattoo, but you get the point). They’re also using soccer ball tattoos as evidence of gang affiliation. I guess that means every soccer player in the world is a gang member now.
But, you know, the Trump administration is all about alternative facts, so maybe they have some secret evidence that we don’t know about. Maybe they’ve been watching too many action movies and think that’s how law enforcement works. I mean, who needs due process when you’ve got a bunch of Hollywood movies to guide you? And, of course, they’re also using propaganda videos to try to convince us that their plan is a good idea. Because, you know, nothing says “good idea” like a video of a prison in El Salvador.
And, because one bad idea isn’t enough, they’re now talking about deporting immigrants to other countries too. Because, you know, El Salvador wasn’t enough of a disaster, they want to spread the love to other countries like Benin, Eswatini, Kosovo, Libya, Moldova, Mongolia, and Rwanda. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be deported to one of these countries? It’s not like they have human rights issues or anything. And, of course, they’re doing all of this without any consideration for the consequences of their actions.
But, you know, the American people aren’t having it. Polls show that they oppose this plan by a margin of more than 2-to-1. And, you know, it’s not hard to see why. I mean, who wants to be deported to a country with a reputation for violence and corruption? It’s not like we’re talking about paradise islands here. But, of course, the Trump administration doesn’t care about what the American people want. They’re too busy following their own agenda to care about the consequences of their actions.
And, because I just can’t help myself, I have to ask: what’s next? Are they going to start deporting people to dystopian novel settings? I mean, at this point, it wouldn’t surprise me. But, you know, maybe I’m just being pessimistic. Maybe they’ll surprise us all and do something sane for once. (Just kidding, I’m not holding my breath). But, in all seriousness, this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. We can’t just sit back and let the Trump administration run amok with their deportation plans.
So, what can we do? Well, for starters, we can stay informed about what’s going on. We can contact our representatives and let them know how we feel. And, of course, we can get involved in our communities to make a difference. Because, you know, we can’t just sit back and let the Trump administration destroy our country. We have to take action, and we have to do it now.
But, I mean, what’s the point, right? The Trump administration is just going to do what they want anyway. They’re not going to listen to us, they’re not going to care about the consequences of their actions. They’re just going to keep on trucking, no matter what. And, you know, that’s just so frustrating. Because, you know, we’re not just talking about deportation plans here. We’re talking about people’s lives. We’re talking about human beings who are being affected by these policies. And, you know, that’s just not right.
