Hegseth Brought His Wife to Sensitive Meetings, Because Who Needs National Security When You Have a Plus One?

4 Min Read

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this one, but apparently, Pete Hegseth, a Fox News personality, had the brilliant idea to bring his wife to sensitive meetings with foreign military officials, because, you know, what could possibly go wrong, right? Just what I always wanted, a healthy dose of nepotism and potential security risks all mixed together. And by "healthy dose," I mean a gigantic, overflowing bucket of crazy.

But, I guess when you’re a big shot like Hegseth, you can just do whatever you want, including bringing your plus one to top-secret meetings, because, why not, it’s not like national security is a big deal or anything. And don’t even get me started on the meetings themselves, I mean, what’s next, bringing his wife to a top-secret meeting and having her live tweet the whole thing? I mean, come on, have some judgment, man.

And, can we talk about the potential consequences of this little stunt, I mean, what if his wife, who I’m sure is a lovely person, accidentally spills some sensitive information, or, worse, gets kidnapped by a foreign government, because, you know, that’s exactly what you want to happen when you’re trying to negotiate a peace treaty. But, hey, at least Hegseth got some quality time with the wife, right, that’s all that matters.

By the way, has anyone seen my cat, I swear, I had him right here, maybe I should get one of these, anyway, back to Hegseth, so, not only did he bring his wife to the meetings, but he also had the audacity to claim that it was all above board and perfectly fine, because, you know, who needs protocol and procedure when you’re dealing with sensitive military information. And, I’m sure, the foreign military officials were just thrilled to have a random American’s wife sitting in on their meetings, I mean, it’s not like they had better things to do.

But, what really takes the cake is that Hegseth is still out there, spewing his nonsense on Fox News, like nothing ever happened, and people are still listening to him, which, frankly, is just mind-boggling, I mean, come on, have some standards, folks. And, I’m not even going to get into the whole book deal thing, because, honestly, it’s just too much to handle.

And, on a completely unrelated note, has anyone tried this coffee machine, I’m thinking of getting one, but, I digress, back to Hegseth, so, what’s next, is he going to start bringing his kids to the meetings, or maybe his dog, because, why not, at this point, it’s not like things can get any weirder. But, hey, at least we can all rest easy knowing that our national security is in the hands of someone as competent and rational as Pete Hegseth, said no one ever.

But, in all seriousness, this whole ordeal is just a perfect example of the absolute chaos that can ensue when you let unchecked ego and arrogance run amok, and, honestly, it’s just exhausting to even think about, so, let’s just take a deep breath and move on, shall we? And, maybe, just maybe, someone should remind Hegseth that, dictionary definition of diplomacy does not include the words "bring your spouse to work day".
