Fetterman Told to Resign, Ordered to Return Flannel Shirt to Nearest Hipster

4 Min Read

I’m literally fuming as I write this, and I just can’t even right now – a Pennsylvania Democrat wants Senator John Fetterman to resign because he’s apparently become BFFs with the Republican Party and President Donald Trump, which is just, like, what even is that?

But anyway, Matt Roan, the chair of the Cumberland County Democratic Party, wrote this scathing editorial in PennLive, basically calling out Fetterman for abandoning Democratic values (or what’s left of them, am I right?) – and honestly, I’m like, where was this energy when it mattered?

And can we talk about how Fetterman has been voting with Republicans lately, like on that GOP-backed stopgap funding bill, which, by the way, was widely opposed by House Democrats, because, you know, it’s not like they’re trying to cut social programs or anything (oh wait, that’s exactly what they’re doing).

I mean, Fetterman’s all about working with Republicans, like when he met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, and then he had the audacity to back Trump’s decision to strip funding from Columbia University because of antisemitism on campus – like, what’s next, are we going to start policing universities now?

But, I guess, in all fairness, Fetterman did say he wouldn’t switch parties, which is good, I suppose, because, as he said, he’d make a pretty terrible Republican, what with being pro-choice and all that jazz – although, let’s be real, it’s not like the Republican Party platform is exactly known for its progressive values or anything.

And, oh yeah, Fetterman’s also been supporting Republican-backed measures on immigration, like the Laken Riley Act, which requires ICE to detain certain undocumented immigrants – which, like, isn’t that just peachy?

But, hey, at least Fetterman’s committed to remaining a Democrat, even if it’s just in name only, right? I mean, who needs actual Democratic values when you’ve got party loyalty, am I right?

And, by the way, if you’re looking for some politics books to read, I’d recommend checking out some of the ones on Amazon, just saying.

But, I digress – Roan’s call for Fetterman’s resignation is, like, the least that could happen, if you ask me, because, seriously, what is Fetterman even doing at this point?

And, can we please talk about how Fetterman wrote on X, formerly Twitter, about how Columbia University let antisemitism run amok, and how he supports stripping them of funding – like, isn’t that just a classic case of shooting the messenger?

But, hey, at least Fetterman’s up for reelection in 2028, so, you know, maybe we can just vote him out then, right?

Anyway, that’s my two cents on this whole debacle – what’s your take on it? Should Fetterman resign, or is he just doing what’s best for Pennsylvania (or so he thinks)? Let me know in the comments below!

And, just to clarify, I’m not actually advocating for Fetterman’s resignation or anything, I’m just, you know, passionately expressing my opinions on the internet, which is, like, totally a thing now.

But, for real though, can we please just get some actual Democrats in office who won’t sell out to the Republicans at the first opportunity? Is that too much to ask?

And, finally, if you’re looking for some Democratic Party books to read, I’d recommend checking out some of the ones on Amazon, just saying.
