American Civil Liberties Union is literally having a meltdown right now, and I don’t blame them, because Trump’s latest bright idea is to send Americans to foreign prisons – what could possibly go wrong, right? But, in all seriousness, this is not just a terrible idea, it’s also super unconstitutional, and I’m pretty sure even Trump’s lawyers are face-palming right about now.
And let’s be real, who needs due process or human rights when you can just ship people off to some black site in a foreign country, am I right? I mean, it’s not like we have a Department of Justice that’s supposed to, you know, uphold the law and protect our citizens – nope, let’s just outsource that to some other country with way worse human rights records than ours (if that’s even possible).
But, in all fairness, maybe Trump just wants to give Americans a chance to experience the joys of foreign prison life, you know, for their own good – like a really bad foreign exchange program, where instead of learning a new language, you get to learn how to make a shiv out of a toothbrush (just kidding, that’s not a thing… or is it?).
