I’m just going to say it, politics is a total mess, and the latest development with President Trump and the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 is just the icing on the cake. And, by the way, who uses a law from 1798 to deport migrants? It’s like using a flip phone in the age of smartphones.
But, I digress. So, Trump is now saying he didn’t sign the proclamation, despite it having his signature at the bottom (what, did he just magically appear there?). And, of course, his administration is backing him up, because why wouldn’t they? It’s not like they have anything better to do than cover up their tracks. I mean, come on, the Federal Register clearly shows his signature, but I guess that’s just a coincidence.
And, let’s not forget the White House’s response, which is basically just a bunch of politician spin. They’re saying Trump was referring to the original Alien Enemies Act, which, okay, sure, but that doesn’t explain why he mentioned Rubio out of nowhere. It’s like they’re trying to misdirect us from the real issue at hand.
But, what’s really interesting is that Judge James Boasberg is not having it. He’s all like, “I will get to the bottom of whether they violated my order,” and I am Here. For. It. Finally, someone who’s not afraid to call out the administration’s BS. And, can we talk about how the Justice Department is handling this case? Using “intemperate and disrespectful” language? That’s just unprofessional, if you ask me.
So, what’s next? Will Trump’s administration continue to use the Alien Enemies Act to deport migrants? Will Boasberg be able to stop them? And, more importantly, will someone please explain to me why we’re still using a law from 1798? I mean, I know history is important, but come on.
And, by the way, have you seen the news about Tren de Aragua, the Venezuelan gang that’s supposedly affiliated with the migrants being deported? It’s like, what’s going on here? Are we just going to start deporting people based on unfounded accusations? I thought we were better than that.
But, I guess that’s just the world we live in now. A world where politicians lie and get away with it, where justice is not blind, and where we’re still using laws from the 18th century to solve our problems. It’s like, can we just move forward already?
And, finally, can someone please explain to me why the White House is so obsessed with deportation flights? Is it really that important to them? I mean, I know borders security is important, but come on. There are better ways to solve this problem than just shipping people off to who-knows-where.
But, what do I know? I’m just a frustrated citizen trying to make sense of this crazy world. And, honestly, it’s exhausting. Can we just have some truth and transparency for once? Is that too much to ask?
