Trump Vows to Send Tesla Vandals to Heck, Then Realizes He’s Not in Charge of El Salvador (Or Reality) Anymore

6 Min Read

What is wrong with this guy? President Donald Trump is at it again, threatening to send people who vandalize Tesla cars or dealerships to the supposedly notorious prisons of El Salvador for a whopping 20-year sentence – because, you know, that’s exactly what the US Constitution says, right? (Or not.)

And let’s not forget, Trump stated that people who get caught sabotaging Elon Musk‘s precious Tesla vehicles will “stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years” – which is just completely reasonable and not at all an overreaction. But, I mean, who needs due process when you have Trump’s Twitter… err, TruthSocial rants?

But what’s really disturbing is that Trump seems to think he can just ship US citizens off to El Salvador’s prisons like they’re some kind of mail-order brides – newsflash, Donald: US law doesn’t work that way! As Civil rights attorney Sherrilyn Ifill pointed out, “The migrant detentions there are the dry run. He wants to ship U.S. prisoners to El Salvador. We cannot sleepwalk through this.”

And by the way, has anyone else noticed that Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (or DOGE, for short) seems like just a thinly veiled attempt to let Elon Musk run the show? I mean, who needs government accountability when you have Tesla’s stock price to worry about?

But, I digress – back to Trump’s latest rant about sending people to El Salvador’s prisons. Because, you know, that’s not a human rights violation or anything. As Lauren-Brooke Eisen – a former prosecutor and current senior director of the Brennan Center’s Justice Program – pointed out, “It is illegal to expatriate U.S. citizens for a crime… There is no modern precedent for sending U.S. citizens who are convicted of crimes to other countries for punishment, or ‘banishment’ as it has been formerly called and practiced.” Wait, what’s that? Rule of law? Who needs that when you have Trump’s Twitter feed?

And, by the way, did you know that the #TeslaTakedown movement is gaining steam? People are finally starting to wake up to the fact that Elon Musk is not the superhero we thought he was. But, of course, Trump is still defending his “first buddy” Musk and his Tesla vehicles – because, you know, crony capitalism is alive and well in the Trump administration.

But, in all seriousness, this is not a laughing matter – Trump’s threats to send people to El Salvador’s prisons are a serious human rights violation and a blatant attempt to undermine the US Constitution. So, what can we do about it? Well, for starters, we can speak out against injustice and demand that our leaders respect the rule of law. We can also support organizations like the ACLU and the Brennan Center that are working to protect our civil liberties. And, of course, we can vote for change in the next election – because, at the end of the day, it’s up to us to ensure that our leaders respect the US Constitution and the human rights of all people.

But, I mean, what’s the worst that could happen, right? We’ll just sleepwalk through history and hope that somehow, someway, everything will magically work out. Yeah, that’s exactly what we should do – just stick our heads in the sand and pretend that Trump’s latest rant is just another Twitter storm that will blow over. I mean, what could possibly go wrong, right?

And, in conclusion, let’s just say that Trump’s latest threat to send people to El Salvador’s prisons is a huge deal – it’s a human rights violation, a US Constitution issue, and just plain crazy. So, let’s all just take a deep breath and remember that we’re living in a bizarro world where up is down, down is up, and Donald Trump is the President of the United States. Yeah, that’s exactly what we needed – more crazy in our lives.

But, wait, what’s this? Tesla’s stock price is plummeting? Elon Musk is having a meltdown? And Donald Trump is still defending him? Yeah, that’s exactly what we expected – more crony capitalism and corruption in the Trump administration. But, hey, at least we have Twitter to keep us entertained, right?

And, finally, let’s just say that we’re living in bizarro world where up is down, down is up, and crazy is normal. So, let’s all just take a deep breath, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the show – because, at the end of the day, it’s all just a bad reality TV show, right?
