Breaking: White House Caught Lying Again, But Honestly, Who’s Keeping Track At This Point?

6 Min Read

And so, we have another episode of “Fact-Checking Karoline Leavitt,” the White House Press Secretary who seems to have a knack for, shall we say, “creative” statements. I mean, who needs facts when you’re trying to defend the indefensible, right? But, hey, at least she’s consistent – consistently wrong, that is.

Let’s dive into the latest mess, shall we? During a press briefing, Leavitt was asked about Trump’s attempt to impeach federal Judge James Boasberg, who had the audacity to pause Trump’s deportation of migrants under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. Because, you know, that’s exactly what the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote that law – to deport migrants. (I mean, who needs due process, anyway?) And, of course, Leavitt had to go and criticize Boasberg, calling him a “Democrat activist” appointed by Barack Obama.

But, as it often does, reality got in the way. NBC News Senior White House Correspondent Garrett Haake fact-checked Leavitt, pointing out that Boasberg was actually appointed by former President George W. Bush. Oops. I guess that’s what happens when you’re too busy tweeting to fact-check. You can find more information on the PolitiFact website, which has a lovely collection of Leavitt’s, ahem, “alternative facts.”

And then, because one mistake is never enough, Leavitt tried to deflect by claiming that 67% of all injunctions in this century have come against Donald J. Trump. I’m not sure what’s more astonishing – the fact that she thinks this is a valid argument or that she actually believes it. But hey, when you’re a master of distraction, why bother with facts, right? By the way, have you seen the book “The Art of the Deal” by Donald Trump? It’s a real page-turner.

But let’s get back to Leavitt’s, shall we say, “creative” approach to facts. This is not her first rodeo, folks. Just last week, she claimed that tariffs are “a tax cut for the American people,” which PolitiFact rated as false. Because, you know, tariffs are actually “tax hikes rather than tax cuts” – who knew? And this was her third fact-check from PolitiFact in just two months. I guess that’s what happens when you’re trying to spin a narrative that’s more holey than a block of Swiss cheese.

Now, I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that’s a record – even for a White House Press Secretary. I mean, former Secretary Jen Psaki had only 16 fact-checks in 16 months, and Leavitt has already surpassed that in just two months. That’s like winning a prize for “Most Creative Use of Alternative Facts” or something. You can find more information on Jen Psaki and her time as White House Press Secretary.

And, as an aside, has anyone noticed that Leavitt seems to have a bit of a martyr complex? I mean, she’s always talking about how the left is out to get her and how she’s just trying to defend the president’s agenda. Boo-hoo, poor Karoline. But, hey, at least she’s consistent – consistently wrong, that is. By the way, have you checked out the book “The Doomsday Machine” by Daniel Ellsberg? It’s a real thriller.

But, I digress. The point is, Leavitt needs to get her facts straight – or at least try to. I mean, it’s not like she’s trying to fool anyone or anything. Oh wait, that’s exactly what she’s trying to do. And, as a side note, has anyone seen the The Daily Show? It’s a great way to stay informed and entertained.

Anyway, where was I? Ah yes, Leavitt. So, it seems like she’s more interested in spinning a narrative than actually telling the truth. But hey, that’s just business as usual in the Trump administration, right? I mean, who needs facts when you have alternative facts? You can find more information on PolitiFact and their fact-checking of Karoline Leavitt.

And, finally, I just want to say that I’m exhausted. I mean, trying to keep track of all these “alternative facts” is like trying to drink from a firehose. But hey, at least it’s entertaining, right? So, if you’re looking for a good laugh, just tune into the next White House press briefing. It’s like a comedy show – except it’s not funny. By the way, have you seen the book “The Laughter Cure” by Dr. Madan Kataria? It’s a real laugh riot.

But, in all seriousness, it’s time for Leavitt to get her act together. I mean, the American people deserve better than a Press Secretary who seems to think that facts are optional. So, Karoline, if you’re listening, here’s a tip: try telling the truth. It’s a radical concept, I know, but it might just work. And, as a parting gift, I’d like to recommend the book “The Truth” by Neil Strauss. It’s a real eye-opener.
