I mean, seriously, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is facing MAGA backlash – what a shock, right? Because, you know, the guy actually decided to do his job and rebuke President Donald Trump for his, shall we say, "creative" interpretation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
But let’s get real here – Trump is all about impeachment these days, and his latest target is U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg, who had the audacity to rule against him (and by "audacity," I mean "upheld the law"). I guess that’s what happens when you try to deport people without due process. Who needs due process, anyway?
And then, of course, there’s Roberts’ statement, which basically told Trump to calm down and respect the judiciary. Yeah, good luck with that, Roberts. I’m sure Trump will totally listen to reason and not try to impeach every judge who disagrees with him (oh wait, that’s already happening). By the way, you can find more information about the Supreme Court Chief Justice on Amazon.
But, seriously, Roberts is right – impeachment is not a game, and it’s not something you do just because you’re disagreeing with someone. Although, at this point, I’m starting to think that Trump thinks impeachment is just a fancy word for "Tuesday." Check out this book about impeachment process on Amazon.
And, of course, the MAGA crowd is having a field day, because why not? I mean, it’s not like they have anything better to do than tweet angrily about judges and courts and the Constitution. Although, let’s be real, most of them probably can’t even spell Constitution. You can find a US Constitution book on Amazon.
But, hey, at least Sean Davis, CEO of The Federalist, is weighing in, because his opinion is definitely relevant here (note: it’s not). And, of course, he’s saying that Roberts should resign, because that’s always the answer, right? I mean, who needs independent judiciary when you have politics? You can find more information about independent judiciary on Amazon.
And, finally, because this story wasn’t already a circus, we have David French and Barbara McQuade weighing in, because why not? I mean, it’s not like we’re all just exhausted from all the drama. Check out this book about US politics on Amazon.
