Navajo Code Talkers Vanish from Military Websites, Reappear on Trump’s Twitter as ‘Fake Indians’

4 Min Read

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this one, but it seems that after Trump’s DEI order, the Navajo Code Talkers have vanished from military websites – I mean, what’s next, erasing the Navajo Code Talkers from history books? But seriously, can someone explain to me how this is supposed to promote diversity and inclusion?

And don’t even get me started on the irony of it all – I mean, the Navajo Code Talkers were a crucial part of the US military’s efforts in World War II, and now they’re being erased from the very same military’s websites. But what’s even more absurd is that this move is supposedly aimed at eliminating diversity and inclusion training that’s deemed “anti-American” – because, you know, recognizing the contributions of Native American war heroes is clearly unpatriotic.

But I digress – the real question here is, what’s behind this bizarre decision? Is it just a case of diversity and inclusion being used as a euphemism for “let’s pretend this never happened”? Or is there something more sinister at play? And by the way, has anyone else noticed that the US Department of Defense website still has a section on diversity and inclusion, but somehow the Navajo Code Talkers are no longer worthy of mention?

And let’s not forget the Navajo Code Talkers Association – I mean, these guys are the real deal, and their contributions to the war effort are still celebrated by many. But I guess that’s not enough to save them from the chopping block of political correctness. But what’s even more galling is that this move is being framed as some kind of civil rights issue – because, you know, erasing the history of Native American war heroes is totally a matter of social justice.

But in all seriousness, this whole debacle is a stark reminder of the dangers of revisionist history – I mean, who’s to say what’s historically accurate and what’s not? And what’s to stop the powers that be from erasing other inconvenient bits of history? And by the way, has anyone else noticed that the revisionist history genre is getting more and more popular on Amazon?

And let’s take a step back and look at the bigger picture here – I mean, this isn’t just about the Navajo Code Talkers or US military policy – it’s about the very fabric of our society. But what’s really enraging is that this move is being justified as some kind of executive order – because, you know, the President has the absolute authority to dictate what’s historically accurate and what’s not. And by the way, has anyone else noticed that the National Archives still has a presidential library dedicated to Trump?

But I guess that’s the thing about history – it’s always subject to interpretation. And what’s even more mind-boggling is that this move is being framed as some kind of diversity and inclusion initiative – because, you know, erasing the history of Native American war heroes is totally a matter of social justice. But in all seriousness, this whole debacle is a stark reminder of the dangers of revisionist history – I mean, who’s to say what’s historically accurate and what’s not?
