Russia has agreed to facilitate communication between the US and Iran, focusing on Tehran’s nuclear program and its support for anti-US groups. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow is “ready to do everything in its power” to help resolve problems through negotiations.
US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the matter in a call, and senior officials from both countries held discussions in Saudi Arabia. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said it was “natural” for countries to offer assistance, while the UN’s nuclear watchdog urged the US and Iran to begin talks amid rising tensions.
