AOC Too Busy Saving World to Bother with Trump’s Latest Twitter Recap in Person

5 Min Read

I’m beyond thrilled to report that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is skipping Trump’s address, because, let’s be real, who needs to listen to that when you can live post instead? And honestly, can you blame her? I mean, who wants to sit through a speech that’s likely to be filled with, well, let’s just say “alternative facts”?

But, what’s really interesting here is that she’s choosing to live post instead, which, if you ask me, is a total game-changer – I mean, who needs the C-SPAN coverage when you can get the play-by-play from AOC herself? And, as an added bonus, we get to see her thoughts in real-time, without the filter of, you know, actual journalism.

And, let’s take a moment to appreciate the sheer genius of this move – I mean, who needs to engage with the actual content of the speech when you can just, you know, live tweet your reactions? It’s like the ultimate form of protest, right? (Or, at the very least, a great way to avoided getting stuck in a room with a bunch of stuffy politicians.)

Meanwhile, I’m over here wondering what other politics books AOC has been reading, because, clearly, she’s a master of the game – I mean, who else could make live posting during a presidential address seem like a viable alternative to, you know, actual governance? And, as a aside, has anyone else noticed how much more entertaining politics has become since she showed up on the scene?

But, in all seriousness, (just for a moment, don’t worry), this move is kind of a big deal – I mean, it’s not every day that a member of Congress decides to skip out on a presidential address, and instead, opts for a live posting extravaganza – and, if you ask me, it’s a total reflection of the state of the media today. And, let’s be real, who needs actual reporting when you can just get your news from, you know, Twitter?

And, while we’re on the topic of Twitter, can we take a moment to appreciate the sheer absurdity of it all? I mean, who would have thought that the future of politics would involve live posting, and, you know, Twitter books? (As an aside, has anyone written a book about the art of live tweeting during presidential addresses? Because, if not, that’s a bestseller right there.)

But, I digress – back to AOC, and her decision to live post instead of attending the address – which, let’s be real, is probably for the best, because, can you imagine the politics memorabilia that would come out of that situation? I mean, the memes alone would be worth it, but, alas, we’ll just have to settle for her live posts instead.

And, as I’m writing this, I’m starting to wonder – what’s next? Will she start live posting during, like, actual congressional hearings? (Can you imagine the congress proceedings on Twitter? Because, if so, that’s a whole new level of entertainment right there.)

But, in all seriousness (again, just for a moment), this whole situation is kind of a reflection of the state of the media today – I mean, who needs actual reporting when you can just get your news from, you know, social media? And, let’s be real, it’s not like we’re living in a post-truth world or anything…

And, finally, as I’m wrapping up this rant, I just want to say – kudos to AOC for keeping it real, and, you know, live posting her way through the Trump presidency – because, let’s be real, someone’s got to keep us entertained during these, uh, “interesting” times. And, as a parting gift, I’ll leave you with this – politics gifts for everyone!
