Namibia’s founding president, Sam Nujoma, was laid to rest in the country’s Heroes Acre cemetery following a state funeral attended by African leaders and foreign dignitaries.
Nujoma, who died at age 95, was a key figure in Namibia’s struggle for independence from apartheid South Africa and served as president from 1990 to 2005, earning him the title of Founding President and Father of the Namibian nation.
