Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Downing Street, where they signed a £2.26bn loan for Ukrainian military supplies. Zelensky praised the UK’s “tremendous” support, noting the funds will be used to produce weapons in Ukraine.
The meeting followed a row between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump at the White House, with Zelensky seeking to mend US ties and secure security guarantees for Ukraine in any peace deal. The UK Prime Minister has offered full backing to Ukraine, with a European summit to be held in London to discuss the Russia-Ukraine war.
