Colombia’s glaciers are disappearing at an alarming rate due to rising global temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns. The Sierra Nevada del Cocuy, one of the country’s six remaining glaciers, has lost over 90% of its ice since the 19th century.
The loss of these glaciers poses a significant threat to the country’s water supply, with many communities relying on them for their main source of water. Experts predict that Colombia could lose all its glaciers in as little as 30 years, leaving hundreds of families without access to clean water.
