Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservatives have secured a third consecutive majority government, with Ford pledging to protect Ontario from U.S. tariffs. The win marks a historic milestone, as Ford becomes the first party leader to achieve three consecutive majorities since 1959.
The PCs are expected to return to Queen’s Park with roughly the same number of seats, while the Ontario NDP will remain as the Official Opposition, led by Marit Stiles. The Liberal Party has regained official party status, despite leader Bonnie Crombie’s loss in her riding. Voter turnout is projected to be around 45.4%, slightly higher than the previous election.
