Elon Musk Threatens to Launch Employees into Space if They Ignore His Emails Twice

5 Min Read

I am just so Done with Elon Musk’s email policies, can’t he just leave people alone?
And, I mean, what’s next, will he start showing up at their houses to check their inboxes?
But seriously, have you seen the productivity books that this guy recommends, it’s like he’s trying to create an army of robot employees.

And don’t even get me started on the whole “failure to respond to email a second time will end in termination” thing, I mean, what if someone’s just really busy, or on vacation, or, I don’t know, digitally detoxing?
But no, Musk doesn’t care, he’s too busy being the richest man in the world to worry about his employees’ well-being.
(And, by the way, have you seen his job listings, it’s like he’s looking for superheroes or something).

I mean, seriously, who needs that kind of stress in their life, right, it’s not like employees are already burning out left and right, but hey, let’s just add some more pressure to the mix.
And what’s with the whole “second time” thing, is that like a magic number or something, like, if you don’t respond within a certain timeframe, you’re out, no questions asked?
But, I guess that’s just the management style of a genius like Musk, right?

But, I have to ask, has Musk ever actually had to deal with a real email inbox, like, with actual emails and everything, or is he just one of those people who has an assistant to handle all that for him?
And, if so, how does he even know what it’s like to have to respond to emails all day, I mean, he’s always talking about AI and automation, maybe he should just automate his employees too, that way they can just respond to emails all day without getting tired.
But, hey, at least he’s consistent, right, I mean, he’s always been about disrupting the status quo, even if it means disrupting his employees’ sanity.

And, can we talk about the implications of this policy, I mean, what if someone’s on a business trip, or in a meeting, or, I don’t know, asynchronously communicating with their team, are they just going to get fired because they didn’t respond to an email within a certain timeframe?
But, I guess that’s just the price you pay for working for a billion-dollar company, right, I mean, it’s not like employees are people or anything.
And, by the way, has anyone seen the books about Elon Musk, it’s like he’s a superhero or something.

I mean, seriously, what’s next, is Musk going to start monitoring his employees’ browser history, or tracking their keystrokes, or, I don’t know, implanting them with microchips?
But, hey, at least he’s being transparent about it, right, I mean, he’s not just sneakily spying on his employees or anything.
And, by the way, has anyone noticed how similar this is to a dystopian novel, I mean, it’s like Musk is trying to create his own 1984-esque society or something.

And, finally, can we talk about the broader implications of this policy, I mean, what if other companies start adopting this approach, are we going to live in a world where email is the primary means of communication, and if you don’t respond within a certain timeframe, you’re out of a job?
But, hey, at least we’ll all be more productive, right, I mean, who needs work-life balance when you can just be constantly connected to your email inbox?
And, by the way, has anyone seen the job listings for email responders, it’s like they’re looking for people with superhuman email-responding abilities or something.
