Japan and the Philippines have agreed to establish a strategic dialogue between their military forces to address security challenges posed by China. Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani and his Philippine counterpart Gilberto Teodoro met in Manila to discuss defense cooperation and promote further collaboration.
The two countries will deepen multilateral cooperation with the United States and Australia, and Japan will provide defense equipment and technology to the Philippines. The agreement aims to enhance regional security amid China’s increasing military activities and territorial claims in the South China Sea.
