A knife attack in eastern France has resulted in one death and several injuries, including police officers. The attack is being described as Islamist terrorism by President Emmanuel Macron.
A 37-year-old Algerian man, who was on a list of people flagged for radicalism, has been arrested in connection with the attack. The suspect was armed with a knife and screwdriver and shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the incident, which occurred at a crowded market in Mulhouse.
