GOP Rep. Rich McCormick Survives Town Hall Event, Barely Escapes with Pants Intact and Dignity Somewhat Damaged

4 Min Read

And let’s get this straight, folks, a town hall event that was supposed to be a lovely, civil discussion about the issues turned into a complete and utter disaster, because, of course, it did. But what’s really interesting is that GOP Rep. Rich McCormick thought he could just waltz in there and expect everyone to be all smiles and agree with him, (because that’s always how it goes, right?).

And then, the locals showed up, and boy, were they furious, I mean, who wouldn’t be, given the current state of affairs, and the fact that they’re being represented by someone who seems to be completely out of touch with their needs and concerns. But, I suppose that’s what happens when you’re more interested in politics as usual than actually listening to the people who elected you.

But, let’s get back to the town hall event, shall we, because, honestly, it’s just too rich, and by rich, I mean, Rich McCormick’s net worth, which, might I add, is just a tad bit higher than the average American’s, and that’s probably why he’s so out of touch with the common folk, but, hey, who needs to be relatable when you’re a politician, right?.

And, as I was saying, the town hall event was a disaster, with locals furious about, well, pretty much everything, from the economy to healthcare, and, of course, the climate change crisis, which, let’s be real, is just a total hoax, said no sane person ever, but, hey, what do I know, I’m just a ranting, over-caffeinated person on the internet, but, for real though, climate change is real, folks, and we need to do something about it, like, yesterday.

But, I digress, because, what’s really important here is that Rep. McCormick got to experience the wrath of his constituents, and, man, was it glorious, I mean, who doesn’t love a good roasting, am I right, and the locals did not hold back, they were like a pack of wolves on the hunt, and Rep. McCormick was the prey, and, honestly, it was just a little too satisfying to watch.

And, as the event descended into chaos, I couldn’t help but think, what’s the point of even having town hall events if the politicians are just going to ignore the people’s concerns and do what they want anyway, I mean, is it just a dog and pony show, or what, but, hey, at least the locals got to vent, and, who knows, maybe something will actually change, but, I won’t hold my breath, because, let’s be real, this is politics we’re talking about, and as the great philosopher, George Carlin, once said, “the reason they call it the American Dream is because you have to be asleep to believe it”.
