Can you believe it, President Donald Trump is at it again, remindin’ the Supreme Court that he’s basically above the law, with almost absolute immunity and the “unrestricted power” to fire whoever he wants, whenever he wants.
But, let’s get real, this is not just about Trump, it’s about the Separation of Powers and the role of the Congress in checking the President’s powers. I mean, what’s the point of having a system of checks and balances if one branch can just do whatever it wants? And, by the way, have you tried reading up on the Constitution? It’s like, really eye-opening.
So, the Supreme Court ruled last year that Trump, and any other President, has absolute immunity for core presidential actions and presumptive immunity for noncore presidential acts. But, what does that even mean? It sounds like a bunch of legal mumbo-jumbo to me. And, honestly, I’m not even sure what the difference is between core and noncore presidential actions. Can someone explain it to me? Maybe I can find some answers on Amazon?
And, let’s talk about Hampton Dellinger, the special counsel who was fired by Trump’s office with a one-line email. Like, what even is that? It’s not like they were breaking up with him via text or something. Although, I guess that’s kinda what it feels like. But, seriously, it’s not cool to treat people like that, especially when they’re just trying to do their job.
But, I mean, what’s the big deal about firing special counsels anyway? Can’t the President just, like, hire someone else or something? It’s not like it’s a huge deal or anything. Although, I suppose it’s a bit of a concern when the President starts firing people who are investigating them. That’s just, like, basic corruption 101.
So, the Supreme Court has yet to decide whether they’ll hear Trump’s appeal. And, if they do, it’ll probably be expedited, because, you know, it’s a super important issue and all. But, like, what’s the rush? Can’t they just, like, take their time and think about it for a bit? I mean, it’s not like the fate of the free world is at stake or anything.
And, by the way, has anyone noticed how politics is just, like, a big game of he said, she said? It’s like, one person says something, and then the other person is all, “No, I didn’t say that!” And, then you’re just, like, stuck in this never-ending cycle of argument and counter-argument. But, hey, at least it’s entertaining, right?
But, seriously, it’s time to get real about the state of our government. We need to, like, take a step back and think about what’s really going on here. Is this really what we want our country to be like? I mean, I thought we were, like, supposed to be a democracy or something. But, hey, what do I know? Maybe I’m just, like, totally clueless.
Anyway, that’s my two cents on the whole situation. Take it for what it’s worth. And, if you’re feeling super patriotic, you can, like, buy an American flag or something. Just, like, don’t forget to use your critical thinking skills, okay? Because, let’s be real, that’s what’s really important here.
